Glenn
Hello GISuser... and welcome to our Tuesday geotech news roundup. A busy week indeed for the industry as many folks have just returned from a busy week-end in D.C where the annual State of the Map US (SOTMUS) took place. SOTMUS is THE conference for OpenStreetMap (OSM) users and anyone who has an interest in OSM. You can catch up directly from the attendees via the event hashtag #SOTMUS14 and also be sure to check out the tweets from the official account @sotmus - Note, I also urge you to have a read through Peter Batty's very detailed report from the event on his Geothought bog - great stuff Peter! Moving forward, the geoint / Geointel community has gathered in Tampa this week for GeoInt 2013* event which has been rescheduled due to last fall's Government shutdown. There's loads of announcements from solution providers (see below), you can view the Show Daily from Day 1, and you can also stay informed on the state of Geoint via the Twitter hashtag #Geoint2013* and be sure to also follow @geointer @@USGIFypg and @GEOINTsymposium for useful and timely updates. Finally, the imaging, laser scanning, LiDAR and 3D mapping/measurement community (and others) are connecting this week in Colorado Springs for the annual SPAR event. You can follow updates from the official SPAR account @SPAR_Events and also keep tabs on updates from conference attendees on the official event hashtag #SPAR2014 . Those of you on-site at SPAR be sure to drop by and visit our gang at the LiDARnews booth and say hi - be sure to pick up a copy of the magazine as well, or you can bookmark it online and read it any time, any place!
