Glenn
Hello GISuser... and welcome to another Tuesday Geotech news roundup from the GISuser community. To begin, an event tip as Registrati on Now Open for the 2014 Esri National Security Summit. See what preparedness really looks like and how GIS can get you there. Whether you work in defense, national security, intelligence, law enforcement, or public safety, this event will be of interest - Save the date, July 12-15 in San Diego, CA. From the OGC, the org is seeking comments on charter for Big Data Domain Working Group. The group is being chartered to encourage collaborative development among participants representing many organizations and communities. Finally, the team at Boundless is not only making loads of noise and disrupting the traditional GIS software industry, they are also expanding rapidly! This week Boundless has welcomed Joshua Campbell, a leader in geospatial data crowdsourcing, to head the company's initiatives for data editing and collaboration products and will work alongside Paul Ramsey - kudos! Oh... and speaking of achievements, the ASPRS has just announced that Roberta "Bobbi" Lenczowski is this year's recipient of the USGIF Arthur C. Lundahl-Thomas C. Finnie Lifetime Achievement Award. Have a great day all and remember you can also connect with us on Faecbook and on Twitter @GISuser.
