Glenn
Hello GISuser... and welcome to another busy September GeoTech news roundup. Have you updated your Apple device(s) to iOS 8 yet? I managed to load the latest OS on my iPad (yes indeed, you can update your iPad 2 if you still have yours). The update will take some time... you can likely watch an entire movie or perhaps even an entire baseball game while it loads so please be patient! For a few tips and tricks on this update check out this teaser from MacLife or head directly to the Apple iOS 8 resource page. Moving forward, how about another tip? Here's a pretty nifty StoryMap from the Esri Landsat team. The map provides links to interesting locations when viewed using Landsat 8's different band combinations - definitely a nice way to package and display some of your favorite places! Speaking of cool imagery and uses of imagery, our friends at BlueMarble Geographics have just announced the release of Global Mapper V16 with 3D Tools. The software converts, edits, publishes, prints, tracks GPS, mosaics, tiles and allows users to conduct spatial analysis of the highest order including NDVI change detection, watershed and terrain analysis, volume calculations and much more. See more including a cool 3D fly-through demo video. Finally, for you career seekers, Esri is on the hunt for a Product Manager responsible for defining the product strategy across all developer segments - check out the requirements HERE and Good Luck! Have a super week everyone!
