Awaken your Inner GIS Solution with LTI Laser Data
Hello GISuser... and welcome to another busy July edition of our geotech news roundup. Like a few of you, I'm scrambling here to prepare for a busy week at the annual Esri user conference in San Diego. I haven't heard from a ton of you regarding parties, social events, official product launches etc... but remember, food and micro brew is always a great way to get my attention ;0) and it may even get you a mention or two here in the newsletter and some Twitter activity as well - Just an FYI, the last ESRIUC related Tweet I sent out hyping a company's plans at the conference got about 10 Re-Tweets and loads of Twitter love, not to mention potential exposure to more than 17,000 that follow @GISuser. But seriously, while at the conference it really is challenging staying in touch and staying on top of all the activity. Should you have a need to reach out to yours truly for a meetup email is always fine, however, a Twitter @ mention to my @gletham account should get my attention. I'm looking forward to the Monday plenary and hearing from Jack and his team about the future of ArcGIS and ArcGIS Online followed up by a keynote presentation from members of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, should be awesome! The "What's New" sessions are always my favorites and I'll be sure to take in the EDN lightning talks as well as plenty of hands-on demos on the show floor from all the developers and business partners that are building on the ArcGIS platform. Like most events, I'll be sharing updates via Twitter @GISuser and @gletham (thinking I'll also try and tag my posts with #GLesriuc as well as #esriuc) , dropping some photos on Pinterest in a dedicated ESRIUC board as well as periodic updates on the AnyGeo Blog area of GISuser. Have a great week all and be sure to say hi if you see me run past you at the conference (or maybe pose with me in a Selfie!), or if you aren't there but are wondering about something please feel free to drop me a tweet!

Are you Laser-Ready?

Anyone who claims to be GIS-savvy knows what a significant investment field data collection hardware and software is when implementing a system. The good news is that most field software already is set up to accept Laser Technology's (LTI) laser data string. This means that there is potential for mapping professionals to fully utilize the benefits of laser offsets and measurements without investing a lot of time or money to do so.
