Hello GISuser...
Are you planning on jetting to GeoInt in a little over a week? Just announced, this year's event boasts a number of new offerings including something billed as GEO TALK 2007 -- Government agencies, industry, academia, and others will be asking and answering questions in this wiki-like environment. GEO Talk: You ask, the community answers! See Here to take part in GEO Talk 2007! Just a reminder, the event is scheduled for October 21-24 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas - unfortunately I won't be there (darn!) as I'll be in San Fran that week taking in CTIA Wireless IT. On to news... EastView Cartographic has just announced their plans for expansion in Europe. The company has a new office, officially called East View Information Services, B.V., located in Arnhem, The Netherlands. Of note, the ccompany has also just listed a couple of interesting career opps today in our Career Center. Moving ahead, do you need Canadian GIS data? How about a new, royalty-free data product available as a DVD library providing easy access to complete Canada-wide data in SHP format? That's exactly what Avenza Software has in the new MAPdataCanada product. Finally, what's Google up to? I see the company has just scooped up Finish company Jaiku (think Twitter) and they have also teamed up with Multiverse on a cool, 3D virtual World project... hmmm. We now have Google Earth, 3D avatars, social netwroking (mobile)... should be interesting to see where this one goes! Finally, it wouldn't be appropriate if I didn't give a shout out to the Rockies... here's to the Rocks spankin the D Backs tonight! Feel free to take part in this fun baseball poll from pollmappr.
