Hello GISuser...
Once again I'm pleased to kick things off this week with a spotlight feature to help those of you interested in orthophotos. The Orthoimagery from this great resource is one of the framework layers for The National Map. Imagery can be used as a base layer for updating or deriving additional geographic information, such as transportation networks, hydrographic features, elevation, and land cover. Need more data? See this fine list of ortho resources and gateways listed in this free GIS data blog. Are you game for another tip? Consider taking advantage of MOSH if you'd like another forum for distributing your digital content in a mobile environment. Developed by Nokia, this app is awesome and has tremendous possibilities... check out this GISuser MOSH for an idea of what you can do! Finally, on to the news and there's loads of it since I last contacted you... of note, CubeWerx is now supporting Google Earth, the GITA Oil and Gas conference has broken their attendance record yet again, and, not to be outdone... Golden Software has released Didger 4 with Automatic Digitizing, Free USGS Topo Maps and Aerial Photos... Sweet! Have a great day and remember to use GISuser for your free Job posting, press announcements, and maybe even your next promotional campaign ;0) Go Rockies!

The USGS is now offers seamless 1 meter Orthoimagery. This orthoimagery product is USGS Digital Orthoimagery Quarter Quadrangles (DOQQ), but as a seamless product. The source data is the original USGS DOQQ's. To see available areas, on the right side of the map interface, under the Display tab, click the arrow next to the category Layer Extent.
