Hello GISuser... Welcome once again - did you manage to catch wind of the charter edition of the Amerisurv Newsletter yesterday? Developed by Spatial Media (that's us) and Edited by Marc Cheves, this publication brings you up to speed on the latest in surveying, mapping, and related technologies. You can view Volume #1 online and register to receive it right here - well done gang! A reminder, next week in Denver, CO ESRI is hosting the 2007 ESRI Homeland Security Summit. The Plenary Session (Tuesday) will examine key homeland security issues and challenges in planning for and responding to complex emergencies such as earthquakes, terrorist strikes, or hurricanes. November 5–7, 2007, in Denver, Colorado - perhaps I'll see you there! Moving forward, we've published more notes and comments from teh recent CTIA Wireless IT event... see the spotlight feature below as we highlight some of the cool things that got our attention on the floor. Also of interest, at the event the co-founder of facebook dropped a hint about Google's plans moving into 2008 - perhaps the gPhone??? All I know is its going to be big and it will be open! Finally, making headlines today we have details of the offer Garmin made this week for Tele Atlas (sweetening TomTom's deal by 15%); ESRI is plugging a new Version of ArcGIS for AutoCAD Allows Users to Define Coordinate Systems and More. ArcGIS for AutoCAD is a free, downloadable tool that provides access to ArcGIS Server map services and allows AutoCAD users to view and query GIS data from the AutoCAD environment. And the gang in Amesbury, Mass at Maptech have announced Terrain Navigator Pro 8.0 which boasts 1-Meter Color Aerial Photos (Nationwide) and integrates USGS Topographic Maps, Street Overlays and Google Earth... nice! Have a great day and sorry for the delay!
