Idevio wins Alcatel Alenia Space order  E-mail
Written by Idevio
27 September 2006
Gothenburg, Sweden, September 20, 2006. The Swedish software company Idevio announces today that Alcatel Alenia Space has appointed Idevio as the supplier of map software for their next generation of fleet management systems.

Idevio was chosen as a result of its performance during a long and thorough evaluation process. This first order secures tools for product development and client demonstrations. According to Alcatel Alenia Space, considerable subsequent orders are expected in the coming months.

Idevio map products are based upon a new compression and streaming method, which reduces the size of map databases by 90–95% and improves access speed and network performance.

Idevio and Alcatel Alenia Space will also sign a Memorandum of Understanding making Idevio the preferred partner of Alcatel Alenia Space for years to come.

About Alcatel Alenia Space

Alcatel Alenia Space is a leading force in European space technology: from navigation to telecommunications, from meteorology to environmental monitoring, from defense to science and observation. The company is owned by Alcatel (67%) and Finmeccanica (33%) and has 11 industrial sites in 4 European countries with over 7,000 employees worldwide.

The Swedish Defence Material Administration signs new contract for Idevio software

Gothenburg, Sweden, September 15, 2006. The Swedish Defence Material Administration (FMV) has signed a new one-year contract, with an option for a further two years, for software from Idevio. The contract is for Idevio's unique products for the compression and streaming of digital maps. The deal is part of a newly signed agreement between Idevio's partner company Carmenta and FMV.

"We are very proud of the new contract here at Idevio. We have been working with the Swedish Armed Forces for a long time and this contract is a confirmation of our quality and advanced technology. Something that is also validated by our many foreign clients," says Patric Nordström, CEO of Idevio.

The contract includes software for workstations and hand-held devices along with support, training and customization.

About Idevio

Idevio delivers mapping, geocoding and routing software based on RaveGeo - the award-winning compression and streaming technology. Tools from Idevio empower defense, mobile and internet applications on everything from workstations to handheld devices. Idevio offers both software components and OEM solutions.
