One of the greatest challenges facing an efficient field data collection solution is moving the data from a GIS database, to a mobile platform and back. Field users need software to quickly, easily and accurately collect data and to interface with the field computers and hardware. Enter Spatial Data Technologies and the CartoPac Data Interchange (CDI).
CartoPac Enterprise delivers field solutions easy to use capability and productivity in moving the data from a GIS database, to a mobile platform and back.
From Spatial Data Technologies... CartoPac Enterprise is the software that incorporates both a relational database and robust field data collection and navigation tools on a handheld device. To make the transfer of data a quick, efficient and painless process, there is the CartoPac Data Interchange (CDI). The CDI manages the transfer of data between the users’ corporate GIS database and the field, interfacing with the GIS database either through OleDb for standard databases or ArcObjects for an ArcGIS GIS implementation. In either case, the data transfer is fast, transparent, and easy.
CartoPac Data Interchange Key Features:
Avaliable as a standalone module or as on extension for ArcGIS.
Seamlessly transfers data either directly to a mobile device or to CartoPac Enterprise desktop for additional preparation for field data collection.
Automatically scans database schema and can transfer schema and data to the field.
Support for a variety of corporate database configurations, including: Access, SQL Server, Oracle, ESRI Personal GeoDB, and ArcSDE.
Ability to store configurations for data transfer, merge, field data collection forms, and visual settings.
Transfers data as either discrete coordinates or binary objects.
Client version includes remote capabilities to load data exported at the office to handheld devices without having to come in from the field.
