Tripod Data Systems Introduces Ranger NX Data Collector Starting at $1,999  E-mail
Written by Tripod Data Systems
06 September 2006
Introductory offer good through December 29, 2006

CORVALLIS, Ore.-September 6, 2006-Tripod Data Systems (TDS) today announced a low-cost version of its TDS RangerT data collector. The Ranger NX features a 312 MHz Intel XScale processor,128 MB Flash storage, alphanumeric keypad, and unlike other Ranger models comes without CompactFlash and Secure Digital (SDIO) expansion slots.

"After the strong response to the economical Recon NX Series we introduced earlier this year, it made sense to develop an NX version of the Ranger for surveyors who prefer a full keypad," said Daryl Stewart, marketing manager, survey products. "The Ranger NX rounds out our line of data collectors, offering surveyors a wide choice of features and price points to fit any budget."

Like all Rangers, the Ranger NX meets MIL-STD-810F military standards for drops, vibration and temperature extremes, and it has an IP67 rating, meaning it's impervious to water and dust. The Ranger NX also includes Windows MobileR software and a long-life lithium-ion rechargeable battery

Pricing and availability

The Ranger NX is available from Authorized TDS Dealers. The introductory price starts at $1,999 which includes Survey Standard software and is available through December 29, 2006. The Ranger NX is also available with other levels of Survey Pro software; surveyors should see their TDS dealers for pricing.
