NAVTEQ Map Data Available with ACSI Camp Guide Ratings and Reviews
CHICAGO, Sept. 5 -- NAVTEQ (NYSE: NVT), a leading global provider of digital map data for vehicle navigation and location-based solutions, announced a relationship with ACSI, provider of international camping guide information, to associate camp sites that have been inspected by ACSI to NAVTEQ digital maps. Camping information in 19 European countries will provide outdoor enthusiasts with a detailed representation of the camp ground and information on 120 amenities in eight categories.
"Our rich content strategy is to provide consumers information that adds value to their navigation systems beyond the basic information of address and telephone number," stated George Filley Vice President of Product Management for NAVTEQ. "The ACSI camp guide goes beyond this basic information to include the rating, review, and amenities for the site such as information on sports, water recreation, shopping and facilities available at the camp site. The combination of our leading digital map data and this information make the navigation system an even more essential tool for everyday life."
"All of the camp sites in the NAVTEQ database are geo-referenced to the ACSI published camp site address, enabling users of the data to obtain directions to often hard to find camp sites," stated Ramon van Reine, General Director of ACSI. "This convenience along with information on amenities offered at the camp site will assist outdoor enthusiasts to make well informed holiday destination decisions."
NAVTEQ digital map data with ACSI campground information will be released in Q3, 2006 in the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark, Spain, France, Finland, UK, Hungary, Italy, Ireland, Luxembourg, Norway, Netherlands, Portugal, Poland, and Sweden.
