Aurora, Colo., June 23, 2006—The Geospatial Information & Technology Association (GITA) announced today that two weeks remain to submit paper abstracts for GITA’s Annual Conference 30, set for March 4-7, 2007, at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas. The deadline to submit abstracts for the event is July 7, 2006.
The conference theme is Mission Possible. The approximately 2,000 geospatial professionals expected to attend will share ideas and learn how organizations are using GIS to respond to growing business needs and prepare for quickly changing situations.
The conference committee seeks professionals from the user and vendor communities to present ideas that will assist others in meeting a variety of economic, social, and regulatory challenges. The 13 conference tracks include:
· Data acquisition and maintenance · Enterprise architecture and system integration
· Critical infrastructure protection and emergency response · Organizational impacts and project management
· Organizational impacts · Planning, design and engineering
· Public sector · ROI/Business case
· Operations management and damage prevention · New technology directions
· Business intelligence/work and asset management · Mobile applications
· Internet and Web services
Prospective speakers should submit two abstracts—one 75-word description and one 200 words in length—and include the intended audience rank (novice, intermediate, advanced, or all audiences) and three learning objectives summarizing what participants will gain from the presentation. Abstracts must be submitted via GITA’s online submission form at www.gita.org/events/annual/30/call.htm.
