Autodesk has officially announced the release of Autodesk MapGuide Enterprise 2007, their new commercial web mapping platform enabling developers to quickly publish maps and spatial information to the web. Additionally, welcome the arrival of Autodesk MapGuide Studio 2007, the new authoring tool that allows developers to quickly and easily to create and build MapGuide-based applications -- expect English versions to be available July 3.

Building on MapGuide Open Source, MapGuide Enterprise offers users even more value including:

  • Oracle, SQL Server connectivity
  • Commercial-grade projection support
  • Additional language support

Mapguide Enterprise 2007 offers users broad platform support including provisioning for deployment on Linux and microsoft Windows, enabling application development with Microsoft .net, php, and Java.

Some of the coolest features users will find right out of the box include enhanced stylization with true color support, enhanced labeling, support for transparencies, a web-based site administration environment, and best of all... rapid application development in a wizard-driven environment with the new Autodesk MapGuide Studio 2007.

Create DWF or AJAX viewing environments

A nifty web-based site administration environment is provided

Simple site authoring is enabled using "Studio"

For more on the products see the official announcement
