MINNEAPOLIS & CAMBRIDGE, Mass.-- May 8, 2006--ObjectFX(R) Corporation, a leader in delivering dynamic location-enabled enterprise information solutions, and MetaCarta, a leading provider of geographic intelligence solutions, announced that ObjectFX has developed a customizable Web-based geographic search client for use with the MetaCarta Geographic Text Search (GTS) system.
The search client is based on the ObjectFX SpatialFX(R) Web Application Framework and provides a baseline browser-based search client that can be easily extended to meet each customer's specific needs for search, geospatial visualization and other capabilities.
"By combining the powerful GTS technology with the ObjectFX geospatial application framework, we can provide a compelling solution for a wide variety of geospatial mission critical tasks," said Ron Matros, CEO and President of MetaCarta.
"We are very pleased to be working with MetaCarta to make advanced, customizable web-based geospatial visualization available to their customers," said Nick Thomey, president and chief operating officer, ObjectFX. "MetaCarta offers unique and compelling technology for geographic search and geographic referencing, and this integration allows us to jointly offer a best-of-breed solution."
The ObjectFX search client for MetaCarta GTS provides a basic geographic search interface including capabilities such as thematic search based on a geographic region, geospatial panning and zooming, document viewing and result list management. A key benefit of the solution is the ability to customize the interface to meet the specific requirements and preferences of a particular organization or user community, from a simple search box with a single map layer to more complex multi-layered interfaces that expose advanced features of both companies' products.
ObjectFX will provide the customizable search client at no charge to customers who license both MetaCarta GTS and ObjectFX SpatialFX.
The joint solution was recently introduced at the MetaCarta Annual Public Sector User Group Meeting in Vienna, VA, and will be demonstrated at the Geospatial Cross-Intelligence Conference for Defense in Arlington, VA, May 8-10 and at the United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation 2nd Annual GEOINT Tech Days event in Washington, DC, May 10-12.
