Atlanta GA, April 18, 2006 – OneGIS is pleased to announce that it has completed the implementation of Designer™ software for the City of Leesburg, Florida. Designer, an integrated design solution that uses a single, configurable, architecture, is part of the ArcFM™ Solution from Miner & Miner (M&M), a Telvent company.
ArcFM and Designer are built on the ArcGIS® platform from ESRI. In addition to providing the software installation, OneGIS configured Designer to the specific needs of the City and developed custom tools to enhance the business process such as a batch reconcile tool, numerous autotext elements to place design information on the work sketch, as well as custom reports.
Designer allows the City to create all engineering designs within the GIS environment, ensuring that they are initiated against the most up-to-date spatial information. Just as important, Designer allows Leesburg to realize the fastest possible turnaround between field construction and GIS system updating.
In conjunction with the implementation contract, OneGIS analyzed the City’s existing engineering design workflow and configured the software to match that workflow. In addition, a Leesburg-specific Compatible Unit library was created within Designer so that material, equipment, and labor could match the City’s HTE cost estimating, billing and work management system. New feature classes were added to the City’s ArcFM Geodatabase to support the design process and OneGIS provided training to the design engineers as part of the contract.
Ms. Tammy Magamoll, Electric GIS Analyst for the City’s Electric Utility division stated, “OneGIS is a great organization to work with. They gave us a good price, stayed on budget, and added that personal touch, which really helps. Designer has greatly improved our business process and brought a lot of fresh ideas to our organization. Having a team that understands not only the software but our utility-specific needs has made this transition a lot smoother than I anticipated. Keep up the good work OneGIS.”
Mr. Emmett Walsh, vice president of professional services for OneGIS and the project manager for Leesburg, commented, “We have been working with Leesburg for a while now and were pleased that the City turned to OneGIS to implement their design solution. The fact that Designer was implemented just a few months after Leesburg went live with ArcFM is a testament to the drive and dedication of Tammy Magamoll and her team. They have accomplished a lot in a short period of time and we are proud to be a part of that success.”
