Friday, 21 April 2006
Spatial Insights, Inc. is pleased to announce the release of CartoUS 2005, a nationwide mapping database, containing over 40 layers of map data.
The CartoUS 2005 data are sourced from the latest US Census Bureau TIGER files, with enhanced display characteristics and roadway classifications. The data are available by county, state, region, or nationwide, and includes Puerto Rico and the US possessions. Spatial Insights also offers the data pre-bundled into census, roadway system, landmark, school district and metro area boundary bundles.
Coverage of custom client-specified boundaries or of other standard geographies is available upon request.
Spatial Insights also offers expedited delivery of the data via ftp download or email.
“We recognize the need of our customers to get this data quickly and to be able to use it easily,” said Don Segal, President of Spatial Insights. “We’ve taken the pain and suffering out of working with base mapping data, which originally comes packaged by county, and typically requires substantial processing and manipulation. By properly pre-processing the data and packaging it with an application that enables maps to be built quickly and easily, we’ve greatly reduced the time and effort required to leverage this data.”
The CartoUS data are currently available in MapInfo ProfessionalTM .TAB file format.
Spatial Insights is a geographic information services company specializing in providing innovative project consulting and mapping services, customized software solutions and data products for commercial organizations.
