GIS in the Rockies Conference Abstract Deadline Extended  E-mail
Written by GIS in the Rockies
29 March 2006
March 28, 2006 - Denver, Colorado USA – To accommodate additional online submission capabilities, the GIS in the Rockies program committee has extended the abstract deadline until April 30, 2006. Updated information on submission criteria, selection, and notification is now available at http://www.gisintherockies.org/program.html.

The 2006 GIS in the Rockies Conference will be held September 13–14, 2006 at INVESCO Field at Mile High, with additional offsite field visits in the Denver metro area on September 15th. It will feature an array of user case studies, technical sessions, and vendor presentations through a series of organized tracks.

This year’s theme – “GIS: From Behind the Scene to Extreme” – illustrates the emergence of GIS as not only a mainstream technology, but also one that has gone well beyond a backroom technology used by scientists and mapmakers.

Abstracts can be submitted in one of the following program tracks:

GIS for Utilities

Advanced Data Acquisition and Mapping

GIS for Surveyors - Spatially Enabling your Business

GIS in Public Policy

Remote Sensing

Data Sharing

Homeland Security & Emergency Response

Maps in Apps

Spatially Enabling IT

Mapping Goes Mainstream

Accepted presenters will be notified on June 30, 2006. For more information regarding presentations, contact Tom Palizzi, Program Coordinator, at 303-467-2738 or This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .
