Streamlines Operator Design Capabilities with New Network Functionality
Piscataway, NJ — March 1, 2006 — Continuing to drive worldwide momentum in the network design arena, Telcordia today announced a breakthrough innovation with the availability of the Design Assistant module of the award-winning Telcordia® Network Engineer. Design Assistant meets the evolving needs of communications service providers worldwide by streamlining and accelerating the network design process. It allows lead planners to automate numerous labor-intensive tasks in the design process using powerful configuration tools to enter rules and models. The module then creates point-and-click wizards for different build-out scenarios that enable any planner to quickly produce complex designs that adhere to corporate standards. The module significantly reduces the time and cost of network build-outs and eliminates the experience gap among network planners.
Service providers that deploy Design Assistant will be able to streamline the network design process by:
· Sharing experience and knowledge across the organization via online wizards
· Enabling all planners, regardless of experience, to plan build-outs in a fraction of the time it took to do so manually
· Generating optimized network layouts for every business scenario
· Using log-tracking trend analysis to correct nonstandard planning practices.
Network Engineer, built on the ESRI® ArcGIS™ platform, is a comprehensive geospatial solution for the planning, design and management of network and physical inventory. It supports an integrated view of both inside and outside plant engineering and has proven performance and production-ready credentials with more than 60 successful implementations in 21 countries.
