Visit Toronto via the Toronto 360Capture Mashup  E-mail
Written by Glenn Letham (GISuser editor)
06 February 2006
Launched December 2005, 360Capture invites users to visit Toronto, Ontario using technology supplied via 360 Capture and Google Maps. The popular 360 degree viewing technology that we are all used to seeing in real estate apps is now integrated with a very cool Google Mashup.

From the homepage at http://toronto.360capture.com visitors can easily locate popular Toronto landmarks like the Air Canada Centre, Rogers Centre, and CBC HQ. Clicking on the associate baloon brings up a small photo of the landmark. Clicking on the photo then initiates a call to a virtual tour providing a 360 degree tour around the landmark.. very slick!

No doubt we'll be seeing more virtual tours from major cities around the Globe very soon.

360 Toronto

Using google Maps at the UI, the application provides pointers to popular toronto landmarks.

Clicking the landmark photo invokes a Java app that brings up a 360 degree tour complete with simple but effective pan and zoom functionality.

On a side note.. I'd love to see this functionality integrated with the Virtual NY City Tour!

About the company

360 toronto360Capture was founded in 2005 by a group of professional photographers and web developers to provide cutting edge virtual reality tour services to Canadians. By always delivering outstanding value and quality to its clients, 360Capture is quickly becoming a leading provider of virtual reality tour services across Canada
