Geospatial Editors Participate in GITA Editorial Advisory Board  E-mail

Aurora, Colo., Feb. 2, 2006―The Geospatial Information & Technology Association (GITA) is pleased to announce that editors from seven geospatial industry publications have agreed to join the GITA Annual Conference 29 Editorial Advisory Board.

The board will review submissions from GITA member organizations and will help select the most newsworthy topics to be announced at the conference. The live press conferences will be held on Monday, April 24, during the annual event, which is slated for April 23-26, 2006, in Tampa, Fla.

          The editors serving on the editorial advisory board include: Matt Ball, editor and associate publisher of GeoWorld; Scottie Barnes, editor in chief of Geospatial Solutions; Joe Francica, editor in chief and vice publisher of Directions Media; T.C. Herman, editor of Spatial News; Glenn Letham, founder/managing editor of GISuser.com; Matteo Luccio, editor of GIS Monitor; and Susan Smith, editor of GISCafé and GISWeekly.

          GITA member companies interested in holding a press conference can visit http://www.gita.org/events/annual/29/pressconf.html to submit a description of the news they would like to deliver at the conference. Information provided in the descriptions will remain confidential and all embargoes will be observed. The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, March 1, 2006, and the press conference schedule will be made available March 15, 2006.
