SafeHood.com Now Maps Sex Offenders in Arkansas  E-mail

SafeHood.com announced today that it has expanded its Web site, SafeHood.com, to include sex offender data for Arkansas. This interactive site allows users to determine if sex offenders are living near their homes in a simple and easy to use format.

Fri Jan 06 2006 -- SafeHood.com announced today that it has expanded its Web site, www.SafeHood.com, to include sex offender data for Arkansas. This interactive site allows users to determine if sex offenders are living near their homes in a simple and easy to use format.

The state of Arkansas provides on its website sex offender data on individuals convicted of certain sex offenses and offenses against children for Level 3 and Level 4 offenders. According to the State website, Level 3 offender is "an offender who is considered to pose a higher risk to the community" and are considered by the State website to be a "High Risk". A Level 4 offender is "an offender who is considered to pose the highest risk to the community" and is considered by the State website to be a "Sexually Violent Predator". It is exactly these types of offenders that SafeHood.com strives to protect neighborhoods throughout the country. "Level 3 and 4 Sex Offenders are those who have done the greatest harm to our communities and children," said Patrick Stauber who spearheaded the development effort for SafeHood.com. "These include offenders who have raped or committed the unthinkable with our children. They are the most dangerous offenders and the communities must be aware of where they are located."

Launched in December of 2005, SafeHood.com has already received numerous awards for its innovative approach to providing sex offender information. By utilizing the National Sex Offender Registry and supplementing the information with data directly from States' websites, SafeHood.com has been able to provide sex offender data on a simple map that immediately shows the location of offenders that are near the person conducting the search. "The National Sex Offender Registry is a great starting point, but it only provides the street names. With SafeHood.com, we actually SHOW you where the offender is at," said Stauber. It is due to type of innovation that the website received over 17,000 hits its first day of operation.

In addition to just providing sex offender information, SafeHood.com also provides other criminal information when it is available. Unlike other sex offender sites, SafeHood.com can provide important additional information on the criminal nature of the offender such as previous convictions or violent acts. This may explain why the site has continued to grow at a phenomenal rate, making it one of the top visited sex offender websites in the world.

SafeHood.com is a completely free service to the public, though contributions are appreciated. "We have worked to make our site the easiest to use while providing the most information available, which still ensuring it can be offered completely free" said Stauber. "If we can prevent harm to just one child, our investment has been worth it."

In addition to sex offender information, users who join SafeHood.com can also see toxic sites, banned persons and new neighbors in their neighborhood. This allows its members to completely protect their families against dangers in their neighborhoods.
