The New Jersey Geographic Information Network (NJGIN) is THE gateway to geospatial information in New Jersey. The NJ Office of GIS has redesigned the NJ Spatial Data Clearinghouse to provide enhanced access to geodata through the NJGIN Explorer. Of particular interest to the GISuser, the site has available (for free) The 2002 Orthophotos in MrSID format.
Information about applications, downloadable data, dynamic data and maps, web services, static maps and geospatial-related documents, or gray literature, is cataloged on the Explorer and can be searched in a variety of ways - by content type, theme, keyword, or even recent postings. NJGIN serves the state's IT community as a whole.
The Explorer also allows you to publish your metadata directly to the NJGIN site
Registered users can manage their accounts online to create and edit favorites lists and receive automatic notifications when specified metadata records are added or modified.
Users will also find information about State GIS job postings, RFPS and contracts, news headlines, data resources, community links and resources. Registered users can take advantage of NJGIN's special features like saving favorites, receiving automail and publishing metadata. Besides, registering is easy and the benefits are well worth the short time it takes to complete the registration form.
Numerous datasets are available from the site and categorized as downloadable data, dynamic data, offline data, and data from sister sites. Of particular interest to users, the 2002 New Jersey Orthophotos (1995 are also available). See http://njgin.nj.gov/OIT_IW/index.jsp
