DADE COUNTY, MISSOURI, SUCCESSFULLY PROTECTS RESIDENTS WITH INTERACT PDF Print E-mail
Written by InterAct Public Safety Systems
28 November 2005
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C., Nov. 28, 2005 - InterAct Public Safety Systems, a supplier of public safety technology systems used by local, state, national and international government agencies, today announced that Dade County, Missouri, has drastically improved its 9-1-1 dispatch system by leveraging InterAct's CTI and E911 offerings.

Since April of 2005, Dade County's medical first responders, fire and police departments were all linked together. By the end of the year this will include all ambulances as well, allowing for streamlined and effective responses to emergency situations. The reliability of Dade County's dispatching center is also further enhanced by InterAct's use of the Zetron communications platform, which prevents outages that could have deadly consequences.

The plans to create Dade County's enhanced 9-1-1 services began in 2002 when county citizens voted to implement an E911 system through funds raised by sales taxes. Voters agreed it was of critical importance to create a centralized emergency dispatch, uniting the disparate EMS, fire and police departments. In selecting a public safety technology vendor, the Dade County Emergency Services Board of Directors relied upon three criteria: meantime failure rates, maintenance costs following the install, and ease of use. Out of the 15 vendors evaluated, InterAct scored the highest in all three requirements.

"Not only does InterAct provide solid, reliable solutions, it also has extremely responsive and dependable customer support," said Udell Mentola, director of 9-1-1 Emergency Services, Dade County, Missouri. "Since we've launched InterAct's products, we have not experienced any outages and have been able to provide our citizens with the best protection. Time and time again there are media reports of system failures that prove to be fatal for affected residents. With human lives at stake, we recognized the need to work with a proven leader in public safety, which is why we chose InterAct."

"When it comes to saving lives, there is too much at stake and no room for failure," said Andrew "Flip" Filipowski, Executive Chairman and CEO of InterAct Public Safety Systems. "We are pleased that Dade County Emergency Services are safe-guarding their residents with the strongest public safety system available."

"Zetron is proud of its products and partners. We are very pleased to be a part of this very successful public safety system deployment," added David De Long, Vice President of Sales for Zetron.

Dade County Emergency Services has also begun the process of implementing InterAct's CAD application. InterAct's flexible CAD system helps to ensure the accuracy and optimize the efficiency of public safety departments' dispatching operations. It further enhances accurate response through the use of superior GIS and mapping systems. The Dade County Emergency Services department expects to have the system deployed in the beginning of 2006.
