City of Westerville, Ohio Selects Geographic Technologies Group to Implement GIS Software Solutions  E-mail
Written by Glenn Letham (GISuser editor)
28 November 2005
Longview, Texas – Geographic Technologies Group, Inc. (GTG) announced today that the City of Westerville, Ohio has procured products from GTG’s LookingGlass GIS software suite.  The City will be implementing LGdispatch.

LGdispatch is a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) mapping interface that provides E-911 dispatchers with an interactive map displaying the location of all emergency calls.  GTG provides several LookingGlass (LG) products that provide a GIS interface for many public safety agencies throughout the United States.

The City’s implementation of LGdispatch is a huge step in leveraging existing technology investments for use with GIS software.  The City has proven that GIS applications can be implemented quickly as a unifying technology.

James Kelt, GTG’s Regional Manager, stated that “Westerville, Ohio will be implementing LGdispatch to make the community a safer place to live.  By incorporating mapping software for dispatching Fire, Police and EMS services, officials will be able to reduce response times that will ultimately save time, money and lives.  In the realm of emergency services, information is power.  By incorporating GIS and CAD products with LGdispatch, the City of Westerville has taken the next step for overall public and officer safety.”
