World Energy Reaches Milestones of 16 Billion Kilowatt Hours Purchased Using Internet-Based Reverse Energy Auction
(November 22, 2005/Harrisburg, Pa.) GeoDecisions, an award-winning leader in the information technology industry that specializes in geospatial solutions, celebrated Geographic Information System (GIS) Day on Nov. 16 and 17 by hosting an ArcGIS® training course at its Camp Hill, Pa., headquarters. Professionals from the city of Harrisburg, Pa., the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, and various regional agencies and local governments participated in the two-day training seminar. This year marked GeoDecisions’ second annual GIS Day celebration. The firm’s ArcGIS certified instructor administered the complementary training and presented ESRI® certificates of completion to each participant at the conclusion of the training. GIS Day is an annual grassroots event where users and vendors of GIS open their doors to schools, businesses, and the general public to showcase real-world applications of this important technology. The national event is sponsored by the National Geographic Society, the Association of American Geographers, University Consortium for Geographic Information Science, the United States Geological Survey, the Library of Congress, Sun Microsystems, Hewlett–Packard, and ESRI.
GeoDecisions’ experienced staff of professional consultants, analysts, and developers supports clients across the United States. Fundamental to the company’s award-winning approach is the integration of spatial information to empower existing systems and processes. GeoDecisions’ philosophy is based on an enterprise wide approach to the integration of diverse information technologies, data formats, and systems.
