The Michigan Center for Geographic Information (CGI) provides leadership, technical expertise and policy for the development, use, dissemination, promotion and sharing of geographic information in the state of Michigan. Of particular interest to the GISuser, the data library with more than 60 data layers available.
Some of the highlights of the CGI include providing numerous useful mapping data products as well as access to:
county base map - features included: roads, rivers, lakes, streams, railroads, political jurisdiction boundaries
Map Michigan - online IMS enabling users to plan a route, street intersections, coordinates, zip codes, points of interest and specialized maps.
Other features of interest at the CGI include a map gallery, Geographic data library (GDL) which includes some 60 data layers including 1998 DOQs, and numerous community resources providing information about data standards, outreach, and State program information.
