Charlotte, NC, USA: NovaLIS Technologies – the leader in the supply of GIS-centric land information management products to government – and business partner CriticalControl Solutions, are implementing the NovaLIS Land Records Framework™ to integrate with NovaLIS EasySketch II™ in Collier County, Florida
Located on the beautiful Paradise Coast of Florida, Collier County is a vibrant tourism destination. Since 1990, its population has increased by over 65% and now stands at over a quarter of a million people.
Prior to 2003, all of Collier County’s building information was managed on paper property record cards causing difficulties in retrieval and storage. In order to better manage the information, with the major increase in population, the County decided to migrate its system to a paperless office. The new system includes NovaLIS EasySketch II sketch tool and the NovaLIS Land Records Framework, and will integrate with the County’s in-house, custom CAMA system. It will allow Collier County to manage all building information digitally. The County has been utilizing EasySketch II since late 2003, and presently has 15 appraisers using the tool.
"We considered several drawing packages,” says Vickie Downs, Director of IT, Collier County Property Appraisal, “but went with EasySketch II because it effectively integrates with our land information management system. The tool was similar to what we were already using, but was a lot more flexible. By integrating the two pieces, we have better control over the information.”
“The work we are doing with Collier County highlights the flexibility of our technology,” says Gary Waters, President & CEO of NovaLIS Technologies. “The integration of the Land Records Framework with our EasySketch II product provides appraisal organizations a set of tools to take advantage of new technology without replacing the entirety of their legacy CAMA system. The Land Records Framework is the foundation for data access, storage, reporting, field support and analysis tools that work with our powerful sketch environment and it is the foundation of our CAMA solution, NovaLIS Assessment Office™. This allows users to migrate portions of an overall CAMA system like personal property, building valuation, land valuation, commercial valuation, GIS, statistical analysis and assessment administration to a new technology base as their budgets, functional requirements, resources and valuation needs require.”
NovaLIS EasySketch II enables users to electronically sketch residential, commercial & industrial buildings. EasySketch II allows for simple or complex structures to be plotted easily and quickly, with all the areas and perimeters of the defined structures calculated automatically.
