The Geospatial user community was presented with another high-res imaging option this week thanks to the crew at DigitalGlobe. Offered as 60-centimeter (two-foot) resolution, color orthomosaics with 1:4,800 scale map accuracy, CitySphere products featuring these 200 urban centers will be updated on an annual basis. The updated imagery is guaranteed to be newer than 24 months. DigitalGlobe will release new worldwide cities monthly over the next 12 months.

  • Basemap Advanced   4 band pan-sharpened, NRGB, 16 bit
  • Accuracy   1:4800 (1”=400’)
  • 2.5 m (8.10 ft) RMSE
  • Spectral Range   Natural Color or 4 band Pan-sharpened
  • Pixel resolution   60cm
  • Bit depth   8 bit or 16 bit
  • File Format   GeoTIFF 1.0
  • Projection, Datum, Units   UTM, WGS 84, meters
  • Geographic Availability   Worldwide for pre-selected cities
  • Cloud cover   Less than 10%
  • Off Nadir (Angle from vertical)   Typically less than 15 degrees
  • Dynamic Range Adjustment
  • (DRA)   For 8 bit product (Basemap GIS)
  • Imagery no older than 2002 for first production year
  • Updated every year with imagery no older than 24 months
  • Delivery Within 2 days of order confirmation
  • DVD or FTP delivery 
  • Tiling and Tile Overlap -14k x 14k pixel tiling, with no overlap between tiles

DigitalGlobe will release new worldwide cities monthly over the next 12 months.
