Immersive Media Corp. Announces 20 City Mapping Initiatives E-mail
Written by Immersive Media
14 June 2005

CALGARY, ALBERTA -- June 14, 2005 -- Immersive Media Corp. announced that, starting July 1, they will embark on a 20 City Collect Project. IMC plans to collect geo-referenced spherical Telemmersion(R) video of approximately 100 miles in each of the cities. This includes all major arteries in and out of the city, the downtown core and key attractions. The geo-referenced video will enable users to experience a terrestrial view and give audiences the complete picture - it's like being there.

The geo-referenced spherical movies will be made available via IMC's database. In addition, selective partners will license the data to planners, developers, engineers, utility companies, and first responders, as well as to travel and tourism. The geo-referenced videos can be integrated into mapping environments such as ESRI's ArcGIS(TM) and Red Hen's Media Mapper(TM).

Other potential partners who provide online mapping services for their clients are interested in offering IMC's solution so that traditional driving directions will be enhanced with immersive video clips showing a stunningly realistic picture of the route.

IMC envisions the integration of this technology with onboard navigation systems, to show the user a video of the exit before arriving at that location, thus enabling the driver or navigator to visually confirm the location with an onscreen image.

There is huge demand for imagery relating to location-based services. With the Telemmersion System our customers and partners' clients can integrate the spherical movies into their existing mapping environments. Eventually, with every pixel geo-referenced (3 million pixels per spherical image) customers will be able to integrate real-world immersive imagery into 3D models and gaming environments.

"We are very excited about this opportunity, as are our partners, potential partners and customers. Since there is so much current interest in this space, with Microsoft announcing Virtual Earth and Google acquiring Keyhole, we can see that our solution integrates into this very nicely, taking you from the 1000' level of their view and dropping you right onto the street, enabling you to easily move throughout an environment," said Myles McGovern, President and CEO of IMC.

About Immersive Media Corp.
IMC is an advanced digital video imaging company. IMC's Telemmersion(R) System captures a global image using multiple video streams arranged according to geodesic geometry. The dodecahedron design captures omni directional video that is seamlessly stitched together and can be viewed live or from a recording. IMC's immersive video provides a terrestrial view of the entire environment for timely, fact-based decision-making.

The compact size, lightweight and rugged design of the Telemmersion(R) System makes it completely portable and it can be easily mounted on land and airborne vehicles. Applications include: persistent surveillance, integration, commanded control of interactive intelligent databases, scenario modeling, and specialized training.
