Ottawa, ON, Canada June 1, 2005 - Coalition Warrior Interoperability Demonstration (CWID) is set to kick off June 6th and run until June 24th.
The participants will be from the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, and some constituent nations in NATO all present to display their technology. US NORTHCOM is the host combatant command for this year’s event and both Homeland Defense and Homeland Security will be incorporated into the operation. CWID is a proving ground for emerging C4ISR technologies that will be deployable within 6-12 months following the execution.
Black Coral will be featuring their software application, Black Coral LIVE, in a simulated operational environment at all CWID locations around the globe including NORTHCOM, SPAWAR, Dahlgren NSWC, Hanscom AFB, NGA, EUCOM, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, and Korea. Black Coral Live will be demonstrating the assembly of a deployment plan on a map and then the warfighter taking it to the field and gathering some new mission intelligence. The information gathered will then be relayed to each level in the command chain and shared with the other organizations monitoring the mission. The mission intelligence will be verified by the domain experts in the command center, and the mission plan will be updated and relayed back to the warfighter in the field. The collaboration engine (Groove Virtual Office), will then replicate the data in real-time to each participant. An executive level briefing will be generated on the mission as it unfolds.
Black Coral LIVE also provides the ability to view multiple layers of data such as digital maps, space-borne classified and commercial imagery, intelligence, sensor feeds, and other live updates fused within a single view. Additionally, Black Coral has integrated Pliable Display Technology (PDT) by IDELIX into Black Coral LIVE to allow viewing of detailed map information, while maintaining context of the overall situation.
