This site has been developed to serve the GIS needs of North Dakota. It is the portal to maps and data - the North Dakota GIS Hub - and serves as a clearinghouse for information and ideas. USers will find interactive map services, data, GIS resources, and information about the stakeholders
The portal's charter statement (2001) is as follows... "The State of North Dakota's GIS Hub will provide the essential infrastructure to share core geographic datasets through an accessible data warehouse among Stakeholders with browsing ability to the general public. The Hub will leverage the State's existing data, infrastructure and expertise to implement the core elements of this enterprise solution"
New data continues to be added to the Hub, with the most recent being high resolution aerial photographs over Bismarck and Mandan. For more see New and Updated Data Information
Extracting data from NDGIS can be accomplished in a number of ways including:
Download Vector Data with the Metadata Explorer
Download Vector Data with the Hub Explorer
Download Vector Data from the GIS Hub Feature Services
Download Raster Data from the GIS Hub File Server
The Hub Explorer is a browser-based interactive mapping tool that displays GIS Hub layers, grouped by data category.
