Surveyors take part in a National Park Service project on Ellis Island that will help to preserve the rich immigration history of Ellis Island.

Many of us have ties to one of the twelve million immigrants that passed through Ellis Island between 1892 and 1954. The "huddled masses yearning to breathe free" arrived poor in worldly goods but rich in hope for a better life in America. Here is the story of surveyors’ involvement in the restoration of the ferryboat Ellis Island that played an important role in their journey.
