Autodesk recently announced an entire new product lineup for 2005/2006. We offer a brief list of all the new products as well as a focus on all the new features you'll find in Autodesk Civil 3D 2006. Also included in the updated portfolia is a revamped website with a whole new look.. including a new logo!
Autodesk Civil 3D 2006 software is a powerful civil engineering application designed to increase productivity. Using a dynamic engineering model, customers complete road, site, sewer, storm drain and subdivision projects faster and more accurately. New features include:
-- Integration of pipes (sanitary, storm drainage and more) -- now, pipe network changes result in drafting updates, providing a more comprehensive design package for civil engineers
-- Multi-user access to surfaces, points, alignments and profiles -- plans or profile sheets are in sync regardless of the number of people involved in the project, minimizing duplication and errors
-- Extended corridor modeling capabilities -- new editing capabilities
-- Powerful common Application Programming Interface (COM API) -- helps developers quickly build applications for creating and querying civil data
Autodesk Map 3D 2006 software connects CAD and GIS by providing powerful creation and editing tools for GIS professionals and the geospatial features that engineers, mapping professionals and CAD technicians require. New features include:
-- Directly read and write Oracle(R) and ArcSDE -- directly and simultaneously access proprietary and non-proprietary data from multiple databases and files (including Oracle9i, Oracle 10g(TM), and ArcSDE). This direct access helps ensure the accuracy of information by minimizing data conversion. By providing an open alternative to ArcGIS(R) for editing ArcSDE data, customers have greater flexibility when choosing an editing environment.
-- Improved Display Manager -- easily query and stylize data-create compelling presentations for use when communicating with clients and other departments
-- New MapBooks -- simplifies and automates a complex task that customers perform on a regular basis -- producing map books for the office or the field
-- Improved GIS User Interface -- modern, flexible toolbars and commands are now task based and easy to learn, speeding productivity
Autodesk Raster Design 2006 enables customers to clean up, edit or vectorize scanned drawings without performing expensive redrafting. Integrate maps, aerial photos, satellite imagery and digital elevation models to enhance presentations, design and project deliverables. New features include:
-- Enhanced raster cleanup and raster editing tools -- "Paint-like" cleanup tool speeds project cleanup and delivery time
-- Extended Presentation Tools -- capture images for use in applications both within and outside of AutoCAD(R) application
-- Ability to edit, modify and save DEM and multispectral imagery -- allows more efficient and convenient use of these large imagery sources
-- Raster Data Querying -- provides raster data for more informed decisions
-- Additional Image Saving Support -- for JPG2000 and GeoTIFF image formats
The 2006 Product lineup... Autodesk’s major new product releases include:
Autodesk Inventor 10, the world’s best-selling 3D design software for the fourth consecutive year. Inventor 10 introduces comprehensive functional design features that effectively prevent “over-engineering” and save time and money on projects.
Autodesk Civil 3D 2006, the industry’s only 3D civil engineering design program that features a dynamic engineering model to complete projects faster and more accurately.
Autodesk Map 3D 2006, which connects CAD and GIS data with unique geospatial tools. These tools create and manage map books that combine building and infrastructure details with precision location.
Autodesk Revit Building 8, incorporating state-of-the-art building information modeling (BIM) capabilities that let architects and designers work together on a single holistic representation of a building project, to save time and money in the design process.
AutoCAD 2006, the world’s leading customizable and extendable CAD software for 2D and basic conceptual design, detailing and design documentation
Autodesk® Buzzsaw® service which has been enhanced with project portfolio monitoring features and workflow improvements so that project teams can communicate, share, and track project information throughout the lifecycle of the project to keep on schedule and within budget
Autodesk® DWF™ Composer and DWF™ Viewer, which enable design professionals to share and revise digital design documents with great accuracy and speed, while ensuring the integrity of all underlying information. Using this digital process, project teams reduce costs and eliminate the typical 2-3 day lag associated with traditional methods and incompatible formats.
