The National Center for Geographic Information and Analysis is an independent research consortium dedicated to basic research and education in geographic information science and its related technologies, including geographic information systems (GIS). The three member institutions are the University of California, Santa Barbara; the University at Buffalo; and the University of Maine.
Of particular interest is a National Science Foundation supported project to develop a Web-based curriculum building resource for Community Colleges and similar instructional environments. A wealth of curriculum building background and support material is made available along with some fine examples of GIS course materials... this resource is a must read for anyone involved in teaching [or learning about] GIS.
Note: some of the material may be a bit dated and we are unsure as to how often the material is updated. Be sure to look at the section titled instructor resources for some great leads.
