The Louisiana Geographic Names Information Service (LAGNIS) is used to map the Federally recognized name of physical and cultural feature described in the geographic names database maintained by the US Geological Survey (USGS) and the U.S. Board on Geographic Names (BGN).
This database contains information for nearly 50 Thousand unique features in Louisiana. Each feature is identified and referenced according to Parish, feature type, and geographic coordinate.
