Hong Kong and China Gas Company Goes Live with Geospatial Resource Management System Based on Intergraph Solutions
Operational efficiency and emergency response bolstered with geofacilities management system
HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Nov. 8, 2004 - Intergraph <NASDAQ: INGR> Mapping and Geospatial Solutions today announced the successful rollout of Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited's (HKCG) geospatial resource management system (GRM) based on Intergraph's G/Gas. HKCG provides gas and related services to 1.5 million households and businesses throughout Hong Kong. G/Gas, Intergraph's next-generation geofacilities management solution established on gas distribution industry best practices, is the enabling core for the GRM that can seamlessly link the company's enterprise resource planning, customer relationship management, network and work management and outage management systems.
The new GRM enables HKCG to more efficiently manage the transmission and distribution network in Hong Kong's densely populated territory and helps maintain the company's excellent track record on gas supply safety and reliability.
HKCG's upgrade to G/Gas from their existing FRAMME-based AM/FM/GIS application has increased the accuracy of the underlying data and improved functionality. Quick and easy access to real-time data enables on-the-spot decision making and quicker response to emergencies. The single enterprise database approach is increasing information accuracy, thus reducing database management costs. An additional component of the newly installed GRM, a PDA-based mobile workforce management solution also based on Intergraph technology, automates and streamlines the daily workflow for customer installations.
