The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Service Centers are responsible for administering over 40 programs in farm commodity, credit, conservation, and emergency assistance. Farm Service Agency (FSA) is transitioning from analog imagery to digital imagery in conjunction with geographic information systems (GIS) in order to administer these programs more effectively.
NAIP consolidates USDA's aerial photography, digital imagery and digital orthoimagery requirements. NAIP will maximize the information value of acquisition by minimizing the cycle time from acquisition to fielding while maintaining the image content information for the creation of orthoimagery and traditional photographic products
