The mission of the Idaho Geospatial Committee is to provide a forum for the GIS community to facilitate the use, development, sharing and management of geospatial data; and to communicate the value of geospatial information to citizens and decision-makers - This is made possible via the State's Inside Idaho web portal.
As part of the National Aerial Imagery Program (NAIP - http://www.apfo.usda.gov/naip.html), imagery is now available for a number of counties within the State. Preliminary compressed county mosaics (CCMs) are available for Ada, Bannock, Bear Lake, Benewah, Bingham, Bonneville, Canyon, Caribou, Clark, Franklin, Fremont, Gem, Jefferson, Kootenai, Latah, Lewis, Madison, Nez Perce, Oneida, Power, and Teton. All data are in UTM projection, NAD83 datum in MrSID format.
In the first quarter or 2005, GeoTIFF images spatially organized by 3.75' x 3.75 quadrangle will be available.
About NAIP - NAIP consolidates USDA's aerial photography, digital imagery and digital orthoimagery requirements. NAIP will maximize the information value of acquisition by minimizing the cycle time from acquisition to fielding while maintaining the image content information for the creation of orthoimagery and traditional photographic products.
