The Delaware Data Mapping and Integration Laboratory (DataMIL) is an interactive, online collaboratory established by the Delaware Geographic Data Committee (DGDC), through the Delaware I-Team, to make possible continual improvement of the maps and spatial data used by decision-makers at the federal, state, county and local government levels in Delaware.
A pilot project for the National Map (http://www.nationalmap.usgs.gov) ... DataMIL's ultimate goal is to provide the procedures and mechanisms for maintaining a continuously updated distributed database, while allowing users to map and retrieve the most current spatial information. The web site will be an on-line visualization, integration, and reporting system for selected USGS and Delaware Framework data layers, centered around an ArcIMS internet mapping service.
The Map Production Lab is where you go to browse through Delaware. See Mapping / Map Lab navigation link.
With the Map Production Lab, you can:
Create your own maps of Delaware
Download graphic images of the maps
Create high quality map layouts of various sizes suitable for printing
Download clipped shapefiles of each data layer
Include your map with comments in the DataMIL discussion forum
DataMIL can be accessed via a webmap service supported by some desktop mapping programs by adding an Internet Map Server - The DataMIL Internet server name is datamil.udel.edu
Please note, we have been informed by the people at DataMIL that the site is currently going through some maintenance... users may experience some down time... sorry for the inconvenience.
