North Dakota GIS Day 2004 E-mail
Written by NDGIS
18 August 2004
Mark your calendars now!  The Full GIS Technical Committee (GISTC) meeting and the North Dakota GIS Day 2004 are rapidly approaching.  The GISTC meeting will be held the afternoon of November 16th and GIS Day events will be held throughout the day on November 17.  Both the GISTC meeting and GIS Day will be in Bismarck.

Everyone is invited to the Full GISTC meeting to hear from the Executive GISTC what has been accomplished and current goals.  In turn the Full GISTC membership can provide direction and comments to the executive committee.  The Executive Committee is in particular interested in getting feedback on data priorities within the state.  At this time we are planning on having the meeting 1:00 - 4:00.  More information on the Full GISTC can be found at http://www.state.nd.us/gis/about/gistechfull/index.html

GIS Day this year has a Lewis and Clark theme (imagine that!).  Additionally, the day will be broken into a General Interest Tract and a Technical Tract to help folks plan their day.  We plan to have Lewis and Clark Sessions, General Mapping Sessions, Workshops, and Case Studies.  Throughout the day we plan to have an exhibit area and a GIS posters area.  At this time we are planning on starting around 8:30 and ending around 4:30.

I have already been contacted by folks interested in providing a presentation.  I still have a few open slots so if you are interested in presenting at GIS Day, please contact me at your earliest convenience.  If you are interested in providing a poster or two, please contact us.  And finally, if you are a vendor and would like to have a booth in the exhibit area, please contact me at your earliest convenience.

If you are aware of other GIS Day events being held elsewhere in North Dakota please let me know, and I will be happy to include those with the rest of the GIS Day information that will be posted on the GIS web site.  Other GIS Day events can also be registered at www.gisday.com.
