Florida's Division of Emergency Management Online Mapping
Written by Glenn Letham (GISuser editor)
Tuesday, 14 September 2004 The purpose of these map pages is to provide the citizens of Florida with current and accurate information which can be used to prepare for and recover from disasters. There are two types of mapping sites, a plug-in required site (Mapguide) and a non-plug-in site. Useful for finding Evacuation Routes and Zones, Storm Surge Information, and Open Shelter Locations
Of particular interest on this site is a quick search by zip code to display evacuation routes. Unfortunately, aprominent link to downloadable GIS data products via ftp resulted in an error due to access being denied. This may be the result of increased server access from the current situation in NW Florida.
