September 13, 2003; Cleveland, OH - Positioning Solutions and Memory-Map announced today an alliance under which Positioning Solutions will be developing, manufacturing and marketing a Memory-Map line of GPS kits.
Positioning Solutions will also be the exclusive distributor of Memory-Map software to the US retail channel.
The software, which supports Pocket PC handhelds, laptops and desktops, guides you while you are traveling off of the beaten path. The software allows you to define a route that you will be traveling and then guides you on your way. You can search for map features (such as rivers and mountains) and even view maps in 3D.
“We believe that there is a great synergy,” said Jeremy Straub, CEO of Positioning Solutions, “Memory-Map compliments our existing Mapopolis product line nicely. It is a great product for exploring the outdoors!”
“Although we are based in New York,” said Memory Map President Richard Stephens, “Memory-Map has had, up till now, stronger distribution in Europe and Canada than in the States. We are confident this relationship will build the same level of brand awareness and sales in our own backyard.”
Memory-Map has topographic map coverage for the entire forty-eight continental United States. Information about Memory Map software and GPS products is available at www.positioningsolutions.com/memorymap
