GeoGraphs Corporation Announces the Release of the GeoFlash Explorer White Paper  E-mail
Written by GeoGraphs
11 September 2004
GeoGraphs Corporation announces the release of a White Paper describing GeoFlash Explorer.

GeoFlash Explorer employs state-of-the-art Open Source components to achieve the same results that many other commercial web GIS products use. The Open Source components used by GeoFlash Explorer include Apache Server, MySQL, and PHP. In addition, it also uses Macromedia Flash Viewer which is free and used by millions of
people all over the world.

The GeoFlash Explorer philosophy is to supply high quality Internet Mapping software where the majority of its components are already widely used, freely available and have a solid track record. In addition to automatically generating high quality maps on the Internet, the system can be easily customized by a whole range of individuals who may not necessarily be GIS or mapping programmers.

Data Models include real estate, utilities, parcels, survey, hydrology, transportation, demographics, imagery, street/address, forestry, oceans, environmental, health, business, administrative/census, agriculture, and more. Please see the following link which
demonstrates Real Estate queries for an example of GeoFlash Explorer:

Advantages and Summary of GeoFlash Explorer

Internet Mapping should not be necessarily complex and expensive to be fast, professional, and easy to use. GeoFlash Explorer provides most of the tools a Designer/Developer needs to build a professional Internet Mapping system. The system is scalable, allowing the  developer/designer to start with a small dataset and then grow according to their needs.

Some knowledge of PHP/MySQL, and ActionScript of Macromedia is important, but not mandatory. GeoFlash Explorer supplies the developer with most of the tools needed to build a professional Internet Map system.
