Ship2Save deploys its ‘Ready-Set-Mandate’ RFID toolkit  E-mail
Written by Ship2Save
08 September 2004
September 08th, 2004 - Montreal, Quebec - Ship2Save has completed work on its Ready-Set-Mandate RFID toolkit.

The toolkit is powered by Ship2Save’s renowned Operation Management System and comes with a set of RFID hardware components and other accessories. Ready-Set-Mandate is designed to help suppliers of various retail chains meet various RFID directives currently circulating through the industry.

Ship2Save Director of Information Technology Amninder Singh explains: “What’s unique about Ship2Save’s toolkit is that it’s more like a template. If you look at the RFID toolkits that exist today, they are very generic. It’s almost impossible to say that a generic kit can really and truly help a company meet a mandate. Our toolkit serves as a foundation upon which Ship2Save customizes to each customers requirements.”

Many retail giants including Wal-Mart, Target, and Albertsons are implementing an RFID infrastructure. This means that their suppliers have to comply with certain conditions, this is where Ready-Set-Mandate can help these suppliers.

Director of Business Development & RFID Strategy Sam Falsafi adds: “A mandate, for a supplier, could mean many things. From the way their RFID labels look, to where they’re placed on the palette, to how reliably they are read. Forgetting about the fact that some of these mandates are still changing. Not to mention, the warehousing environment of each customer is different. But that being said, some things do remain the same across all suppliers. The Ready-Set-Mandate toolkit provides a deployment process that makes RFID integration and customization quick and in-expensive.”

Ship2Save’s recent partnership with Axentia extends this Ready-Set-Mandate toolkit to Microsoft’s Business Solutions, particularly Navision.

David Pilz, partner for Axentia comments: “Axentia has a number of customers whose businesses represent important components to retail or automotive supply chains. These two sectors have historically embraced technology and logistics advancements quicker than other industries simply out of necessity. It was important for Axentia to be able to provide these with a full end-to-end distribution capability. The recent RFID mandates being imposed by companies represent the most recent issue that needs to be addressed by our customers. We are very pleased with our integration with Ship2Save's RFID solutions.”

The first worldwide RFID/Navision webinar presentation, co-hosted by the two companies, will help layout an important roadmap for suppliers under these mandates.
