City of Langley Launches GEO  E-mail
Written by Pacific Alliance
01 September 2004
Today the City of Langley launched GEO (http://www.city.langley.bc.ca/gis.htm) their online Property Information System. The City began plans for this implementation in 2003 with the help, of then newly hired, GIS manager Perry Holmes and John Samulski of Forte Consulting.

John provided the city with a GIS Implementation Plan which identified the Tempest Web Inquiry System as the fastest way to get the City s information to the public.

Pacific Alliance was responsible for the setup of the GIS database including assisting the City in cleaning of their base map. Pacific Alliance also setup the Tempest Web Inquiry System. GEO is an important milestone in Francis Cheung's vision of a comprehensive asset management system. Our GIS system will continue to be enhanced to the benefit of City staff, the businesses and citizens of Langley. We would like to thank all staff, vendors and consultants for their help in making this project a great success! were the words of Ken Ogden the IT Manager of the City of Langley.

Pacific Alliance Technologies (www.pat.ca) is a software solutions company focused on enterprise-wide mapping and design solutions, education and professional services. One of our main areas of expertise is web-based mapping for infrastructure management. Last year we led
Canada in the provision of Autodesk MapGuide® solutions and, leveraging our iVAULT rapid development environment, we have implemented some of the world's largest web-based mapping systems. In addition, our Engineering Infrastructure Information System (EIIS)
streamlines maintenance of intelligent Municipal water, sewer and drainage data - providing the data on which Municipal, web-based mapping and modeling systems are based.

The Tempest Development Group Inc. (www.tempestdg.com) was formed in 1993 by industry leading professionals to supply solutions to Municipal clients. Their Tempest software product handles property and revenue information effectively and effortlessly. Fulfilling the
requirements of a variety of Municipal departments, TEMPEST s experienced staff created a suite of products that manage local government information for a number of clients in British Columbia, Alberta and Washington State.

Forte Consulting (http://www.forteconsulting.ca/) is comprised of a group of specialists focused on developing robust spatial data management solutions for a broad range of business areas. The Forte Consulting team has, collectively, 40 years of experience in GIS and related Information Technology.
