ROCHESTER, NY - August 23, 2004 - Pictometry International Corp., provider of a patented information system that captures georeferenced, digital aerial oblique and orthogonal images as well as related software, announced today that it has secured its first and second letters of intent for new license agreements with prominent aerial imaging and mapping firms for the United Kingdom and Italy.
Simmons Aerofilms, the leading provider of aerial photography and digital mapping solutions in the United Kingdom, will become the exclusive distributor of the Pictometry software and image capture process for the UK and Ireland. Compagnia Generale Ripreseaeree (CGR) Group, a UNI-EN-ISO 9001 certified company with technical innovation in photogrammetry and remote sensing, will become the exclusive distributor of Pictometry solutions for Italy. Pictometry's industry leading software enables users to quickly and easily access up to 12 different high-resolution views of any property, building, highway, landmark, or other feature in a region. The software also enables end users to obtain measurements directly from the imagery as well as insert GIS content and other data.
Potential applications for Pictometry in Europe include law enforcement, fire and ambulance, national security agencies, central and local government, emergency reaction agencies, planning agencies, transportation, telecommunications, and utilities.
Pictometry has a growing U.S. customer list approaching 100 counties, the State of Massachusetts, numerous federal agencies, private businesses, and major metropolitan centers that include Atlanta, Boston, Los Angeles, New York City, San Francisco, and Washington D.C.
"We are very pleased to be announcing the first of many international agreements," said Richard Kaplan, president and CEO of Pictometry. "These agreements are part of our business plan to introduce Pictometry to markets worldwide."
Dante Pennacchia, senior vice president of Sales and Marketing at Pictometry, notes that the international growth potential for the company's software and imagery is gaining momentum faster than expected. "We are thrilled with the progress we are making in establishing the Pictometry brand as a leading supplier of oblique imagery for GIS solutions to the international business community," said Pennacchia. "The international market for our digital imagery and software is huge, and one that we are aggressively pursuing."

The product is incredibly versatile and the software is extremely simple for the end user to master," said Derek Simmons, chairman of Simmons Aerofilms. "All of a sudden with a few clicks on a computer, a person can view a building from 12 different views and even measure its height. As far as we are concerned this is going to revolutionize the UK and Ireland imagery market. Long gone are the days of viewing imagery only from above - the oblique revolution is here."
"Pictometry's high-quality metric oblique images will offer our customers an excellent way to view and manage visual data from new perspectives and functionality that were previously not possible," said Dott. Licinio Ferretti, chairman of CGR. "Pictometry's developments in imagery and software represent a major advancement in photogrammetric techniques that we believe will be very well received by the Italian and European markets."
"Simmons Aerofilms and CGR are very progressive companies that we look forward to working with," said Charles Mondello, senior vice president of Corporate Development for Pictometry and chair of the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing 10-year industry forecast.
