Click A Taxi Celebrates Record Achievement: Launches the World's First Global Taxi App, Now Covers More Than 1 Billion People

COPENHAGEN, Denmark, February 7, 2013 - Overnight Click A Taxi is now covering a total of 50 countries. This is up from 9 countries, hereby setting the outright record of largest global coverage for taxi apps.

Today, Click A Taxi announces the world's first and only global taxi app. The free award-winning app now enables more than 1 billion people to order a taxi almost anywhere, domestically as well as globally. The global service is currently in beta with over 2,000 taxi companies that have been handpicked for the global network to ensure quality and safety.

Now you only need one taxi app

"We all have great free apps that work anywhere we travel: e.g. Google Maps, Airbnb and Yelp are essential tools and we expect them to work wherever we are. Click A Taxi is the first taxi app built on the same principles. We will help get you a taxi wherever you are," says Click A Taxi CEO, Søren Halskov Nissen.

Click A Taxi has spent the last 9 months meticulously mapping city after city in 50 countries. Along with the global launch, the Scandinavian company is also releasing a completely redesigned app, which is available for download in all app-stores worldwide today. The new app works in beta in more than 5,000 cities and brings a fleet of 300,000 taxis to life for its users.

To provide reliable taxis anywhere, Click A Taxi works with a variety of technology companies, including Google. Sanjay Patel, Head of Google Enterprise Geo, EMEA, says:

"We are pleased that Click A Taxi have chosen Google Maps for Business to support their service. Through new, innovative ways to use our geolocation technology, they are able to give taxi customers all over the world an accurate service."

The new app is available as a free download today at http://www.clickataxi.com
