Supergeo Technologies, the leading global provider of complete GIS software and solutions, announced that SuperGIS software is selected by Cooperativa Efedra to collect and visualize a large amount of spatial and attribute data for developing and implementing feasible flora and fauna surveys and management plans in Italy.
Established in 2001, Cooperativa Efedra focuses on forest management, fauna and flora protection, environmental compensation projects, wildlife management, etc. The company can also organize scientific conferences on environmental issues and training workshops for the residents, students and tourists to increase their awareness of environmental protection.
Habitat destruction and overhunting have led to biodiversity loss and extinctions. To conserve and enhance habitats and species effectively, Cooperativa Efedra employed SuperSurv 3, an Android mobile GIS application, to achieve field data collection; meanwhile developing a biodiversity system with SuperGIS Desktop 3.1 to obtain integrated spatial data and analysis for effective biodiversity conservation.
Serving as Supergeo’s distributor in Italy, Helix S.r.i. provides local governments and enterprises with custom GIS applications and technical support for improving their decision-making skills to deal with geospatial issues. In 2013, Supergeo will encourage a closer cooperation with Helix S.r.l. in order to widely promote SuperGIS software in the broad European market.
