Global Technology Solutions Company's Latest Project Helps Users Track Colds, Flu and Other Contagions
GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo. — Qwinix Technologies Inc., a global technology solutions company that provides robust, flexible and cost-effective infrastructure services to enterprise clients, has announced the launch of its latest mobile application, SikBug.
The SikBug Mobile App is a free networking and proximity-based tool for tracking and discussing contagious conditions throughout the user’s community. At the first sign of symptoms in themselves or others, users can check with SikBug, report symptoms and track geographic areas where the contagion is spreading. With SikBug users can have online conversations about colds, flu or other contagious germs while fighting them off or before coming in contact with them. Users can arm themselves with the knowledge of where influenza-like illnesses are spreading geographically and read conversations about potential treatment. Unlike Google Flu Tracker, users directly enter their symptoms and have an opportunity to socially engage with other users.
Designed for Android, iPhone and Windows Phone, SikBug acquires the precise user location using the Global Positioning System (GPS) or network location sources such as cell towers and Wi-Fi. These location services must be turned on and available to the individual user’s device for the app to make use of them.
“Qwinix Technologies Inc. is proud to announce the launch of SikBug,” said President and CEO Darshan Puttannaiah. “This innovative product will provide people with a valuable tool to track the spread of colds, flu and other contagious disease, in order to help fight the ‘bugs’ that are going around. SikBug is especially useful for parents and caregivers of daycare and elementary school age children. Busy professionals, individuals with compromised immune systems, senior centers and school nurses that need to stay healthy can all use SikBug to avoid becoming exposed.”
