The gang at CloverPoint in Victoria BC, Canada is doing some really cool stuff with facebook via their resource known as MapSocial. The latest addition to the service is a fun infographic building tool that lets users create a Social Graph of their friends based on location parameters harvested from their settings.
Users can quickly and easily connect to the service (through facebook) follow the prompts, and generate and share a fun visualization (infographic) to share with their friends. Here's how it works:
Click the Get Started Now button and begin creating your own infographic
The first step is locating if friends have their location set, eg. 67% of my friends have set their location
The app then generates a graph of the top 5 countries where your friends are located
Creates a map of top countries in the world
A fun color graphic showing your friends in balls colored by city is generated (be sure to play with the gravity slider for fun!)
Finally, a complete friends graph is generated combining all the graphics. You can then optionally tag 30 friends and they will then see the graph and perhaps make their own
