Access to more than 13,000 live roadside traffic cameras in over 200 U.S. cities nationwide keeps drivers informed about traffic and road conditions
Fairfax, Virginia, January 8, 2013--TrafficLand®, the largest authorized aggregator of live traffic video in the U.S., announced today it will no longer charge a download fee for its Traffic View application—the best selling traffic application in the iTunes App Store.
Designed to keep drivers informed about traffic and road conditions, the Traffic View app, powered by the TrafficLand network, provides still image snapshots from over 13,000 live traffic cameras in over 200 U.S. cities. iPhone users can locate cameras by map or text search, bookmark favorites and email latest traffic snapshots.
The Traffic View app employs geolocation software that automatically searches and retrieves traffic camera images within your immediate proximity, and shows them from closest to farthest away in a catalog or map display. There is a paid upgrade available within the app to enable fast-updating video from many of the cameras for an annual fee. The app also lets users save their favorite cameras for repeat viewing.
“With winter conditions making driving more hazardous, we wanted to give drivers the ability to make more informed travel decisions,” said Lawrence Nelson, CEO of TrafficLand. “Traffic View is designed to do that by letting users see road conditions with their own eyes, and seeing is believing.”
